Where Expertise Meets Integrity
About Us
The Chambers combines transactional sophistication with litigation and alternative dispute resolution strength to deliver intensely focused solutions for complex commercial matters. With an interdisciplinary team of lawyers and chartered accountants, and strategic collaborations across leading firms, we provide holistic, pragmatic counsel that integrates legal, financial, and regulatory insight for clients in India and beyond.
Chambers of Parth Contractor, established in 2016, represents a distinct model of legal practice—combining the sophistication of a large law firm with the agility and focus of a boutique. We operate from a central belief that effective legal solutions must be both intensely focused and pragmatically delivered, tailored to address the most critical challenges faced by our clients.
Our practice is defined by a commitment to excellence in complex, high-value matters. We do not follow a generalist approach; instead, we dedicate our resources to delivering intensely focused solutions—strategies designed around the specific nuances of each transaction or dispute. This philosophy underpins both our transactional practice, where we navigate intricate deal structures, and our dispute resolution work, where we represent clients before courts and tribunals in some of the most demanding matters.
The Chambers is anchored by a team of twenty professionals—fifteen lawyers and five chartered accountants. This unique composition reflects our conviction that modern commercial practice requires seamless integration of law, finance, and accounting. Our team structure is intentionally lean, allowing for deep collaboration, specialized expertise, and consistently high standards of service. Each member of our team is carefully selected not just for their technical competence, but for their ability to contribute to our culture of excellence and client service.
We also maintain strategic collaborations with leading accountancy firms and work closely with multinational corporations, Indian conglomerates, promoter groups, Big Four firms, and respected domestic and international law firms. These partnerships extend our capabilities, enabling us to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end solutions across India’s commercial and regulatory landscape. This diverse client base and collaborative network reflects both the quality of our work and our ability to operate effectively across different contexts and requirements.
Practice Areas
Litigation & Dispute Resolution
We represent clients in complex civil and commercial disputes, including contractual, real estate, constitutional, intellectual property, and environmental matters. Our team appears regularly before commercial courts, High Courts, and the Supreme Court, delivering precise and pragmatic advocacy.
The Chambers maintains a robust litigation practice. We represent clients in contractual disputes involving breaches, enforcement, and interpretation across diverse commercial arrangements. Our real estate litigation covers property rights, development agreements, title disputes, and landlord-tenant issues. We also act in intellectual property disputes, safeguarding trademarks and intangible assets against infringement and passing-off claims. In constitutional litigation, we regularly appear in writ petitions before High Courts, challenging administrative decisions and protecting fundamental rights. Environmental disputes form another growing area of focus, where we advise on compliance, clearances, and regulatory enforcement. Our lawyers appear frequently before commercial courts, appellate courts, tribunals, forums, High Courts, and the Supreme Court, combining precision in legal strategy with a pragmatic focus on client outcomes.
Arbitration & ADR
Our arbitration practice—domestic and international—covers the entire lifecycle from pre-arbitration strategy development to post-award enforcement proceedings. We have particular strength in infrastructure, shareholder, and maritime arbitrations, where technical complexity and high-value claims demand sophisticated legal solutions.
Arbitration and ADR form a cornerstone of our practice. Our experience extends to both domestic and international arbitrations, including acting as expert witnesses on Indian law. We are particularly recognized for our work in infrastructure arbitrations covering mining, energy, exploration and road projects, where complex technical issues intersect with high-value commercial claims. We also act in shareholder and promoter disputes, combining corporate law insight with arbitration expertise, and in maritime arbitrations where we bring together sector-specific knowledge and dispute resolution capability. Our practice includes asset tracing and execution, ensuring that favourable awards translate into actual recovery. Through tailored strategies, we help clients manage risks, control costs, and achieve effective outcomes in arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution.
Company Law & Insolvency
We handle shareholder disputes, restructuring exercises, and insolvency proceedings under the IBC. Representing debtors, creditors, resolution professionals, and applicants, we deliver integrated solutions across corporate governance, restructuring, and distressed asset acquisitions.
Our company law and insolvency practice encompasses the full spectrum of corporate disputes and restructuring mandates. We act in shareholder disputes, including oppression and mismanagement petitions, and advise on corporate restructuring through mergers, demergers, and amalgamations. On the insolvency front, we represent all key stakeholders—corporate debtors, creditors, resolution professionals, and resolution applicants—before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). We have advised on high-stakes insolvency proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), guiding resolution processes, creditor negotiations, and acquisition of distressed assets. Our experience in this area combines litigation strength with commercial acumen, enabling us to offer holistic advice that addresses both legal rights and business realities. Whether navigating restructuring, corporate governance disputes, or insolvency resolution, we focus on solutions that preserve value and resolve conflicts efficiently.
White-Collar & Economic Offences
Our white-collar practice defends corporates, promoters, and high-net-worth individuals in investigations and prosecutions by agencies such as the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), and Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). We provide strategic representation from pre-investigation through trial, appeals, and allied proceedings.
The Chambers has built a sophisticated white-collar and economic offences practice. We intervene early, at the pre-investigation stage, to mitigate risks and protect client interests, and continue representation through investigation, trial, and appellate stages. Our defence strategies are informed by meticulous analysis of evidence and law, ensuring compliance while safeguarding rights. We also act in ancillary proceedings, including bail applications, quashing petitions, and enforcement challenges. In this high-stakes arena, we combine discretion with robust advocacy, enabling clients to navigate sensitive investigations and prosecutions with clarity and confidence.
Admiralty & Maritime
We advise on maritime disputes including ship arrests, cargo claims, liens, and maritime arbitrations. With a strong presence before coastal High Courts, we act swiftly to protect client interests in this time-sensitive practice.
Our admiralty and maritime litigation practice extends across the coastal High Courts of India. We represent clients in ship arrests, cargo claims, and enforcement of maritime liens, often requiring urgent relief to protect commercial interests. We advise on both claimant and defence strategies, as well as maritime liens—addressing their unique procedural and substantive aspects. Beyond court proceedings, we act in maritime arbitrations—both institutional and ad hoc—and serve as expert witnesses on Indian maritime law in international forums. Our experience also includes enforcement of maritime awards and decrees. With a focus on precision and speed, we help clients resolve disputes in this highly specialized and time-sensitive practice, ensuring minimal disruption to commercial operations.
Tax Litigation
Our tax practice spans direct, indirect, transfer pricing, and GST disputes. We represent clients before appellate tribunals and courts, offering clarity in valuation, anti-dumping, customs, and evolving GST regimes.
Tax litigation is a core practice of the Chambers, covering direct, indirect, and international tax disputes. We represent clients in transfer pricing matters, disputes under the Income Tax Act, and GST-related controversies. Our indirect tax practice includes customs investigations, anti-dumping matters, valuation disputes, and legacy excise and service tax cases. We act before specialized forums such as the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) and the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT), as well as High Courts and the Supreme Court. Our team’s integrated legal and accounting expertise enables us to deliver nuanced advice on both technical issues and commercial implications. In an evolving regulatory environment, we provide clarity and robust representation, helping clients manage exposure, mitigate risks, and achieve effective resolutions in tax disputes.
Transactions
We guide clients through the full lifecycle of corporate and commercial transactions—from structuring and negotiation to regulatory compliance and closure. Our role extends beyond documentation to delivering seamless, compliant, and commercially viable outcomes.
We act as strategic advisors, anticipating risks, aligning structures with regulatory frameworks, and facilitating smooth execution. We regularly guide clients through complex regulatory regimes, including company law, securities regulations, foreign exchange laws, and sector-specific approvals. Whether advising on acquisitions, joint ventures, or restructuring exercises, we focus on delivering seamless, end-to-end support. With an integrated team of lawyers and chartered accountants, we bring both legal precision and financial insight to transactions, ensuring outcomes that are efficient, compliant, and strategically aligned with client objectives.
